Hi, I’m Dave Konig and I’m the primary blogger here at PersonalBlogger.net, where the niche is you. I started PersonBlogger.net because I would always read about blogging from the perspective of focusing on a specialized category, or niche, in order to either make money blogging or to be more popular blogging about your topic. These blogs would benefit someone writing a tech blog, a music blog, a movie blog, a political blog, or another blog about how to make money blogging. I didn’t see any blogs that would specifically benefit what I wanted to be… a personal blogger.
The Empowerment of Personal Blogging
I once was asked as to why exactly I chose to write a personal blog over another kind. Truth be told, I’ve had a few different blogs on a couple different subjects. Each blog was something I was at the very least interested in, and often times would spend passion filled hours crafting it from theme to post. Eventually though, when time was perhaps not as abundant as I would like it, the one that I was always drawn to pour myself into was my personal blog.
The fact is that as personal bloggers we put ourselves out there to meet like minded people who we find interesting and can relate to. We do it because we ultimately have something to say. We do it because without a doubt, we are most passionate about ourselves.
Why Not Make Money?
The last State of the Blogosphere report from David Sifry indicated that there were over 70 million blogs at the end of March 2007. While it would be wonderful to be able to quit your day job and become financially independent because of your blogging, that is not necessarily going to happen with that many blogs out there. This is not to say it can’t or won’t happen, but the odds are decidedly against you. If living off blogging is in fact your dream that your heart is set on achieving, then this unfortunately is not the blog for you.
